The Vanessa Macamo Foundation and MOZPUD – the National Network for Assistance to People Who Use Drugs – signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 22 July 2027, establishing a framework for institutional cooperation between the two organisations. The ceremony took place at MOZPUD’s premises and brought together the organisation’s team, members of the Foundation’s Council and representatives of both institutions.

The Memorandum will initially remain in force for 12 months and begins with collaboration in digital communications. Its purpose is to strengthen the visibility of MOZPUD’s activities, services and results through more regular and strategic institutional communications that can bring the organisation closer to partners, funders and the wider public.
Under the partnership, the Vanessa Macamo Foundation will provide technical support that includes producing one video of up to two minutes each month, preparing two monthly posts, supporting the development of texts, graphic materials, photographs and videos, setting up social media accounts and delivering basic social-media management training to the MOZPUD team.
During the ceremony, Vanessa Macamo, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Vanessa Macamo Foundation, and Stélio Craveirinha, Executive Director of MOZPUD, shared their perspectives on the importance of the partnership and its expected results. Issufo Arrone, Coordinator of the Foundation’s Advisory Council, presented the main provisions of the Memorandum, including each organisation’s responsibilities, coordination mechanisms, confidentiality and the results expected during the 12-month period.
The central moment was the signing of the Memorandum by the representatives of both organisations, formally confirming their commitment to cooperation and launching the agreed activities.
The ceremony also included a donation by the Vanessa Macamo Foundation of the book “A Maria que Não Vai com as Outras” and the establishment of a Reading Club at MOZPUD. The initiative will use reading as a tool for learning, dialogue, reflection and social transformation.

The Reading Club will be led by writer Iva Mauaie, the book’s author, who will guide reading and reflection sessions. The initiative is intended to create a safe space for sharing, listening, critical thinking and personal development, reinforcing the educational dimension of the partnership.
With the signing of the Memorandum, the Vanessa Macamo Foundation and MOZPUD begin a new stage of cooperation based on knowledge-sharing, the use of communications and technology for institutional strengthening, and the implementation of initiatives capable of generating positive community impact.

For the Vanessa Macamo Foundation, the partnership reaffirms its commitment to working with organisations that serve communities directly, helping to amplify their voice, institutional capacity and the reach of their initiatives.
