On 10 July 2026, prospective members of the Vanessa Macamo Foundation’s governing bodies met at the institution’s premises, which were still under construction. Chaired by founder Vanessa Macamo, the meeting marked the beginning of the activities required to create and structure the Foundation.

During the meeting, Vanessa Macamo presented the vision guiding the Foundation, explained the motivations behind its creation and shared why each person had been invited to join its prospective governing bodies. The discussion aligned expectations, strengthened the sense of mission and established a common basis for institutional work.

Participants included Vanessa Macamo, prospective Chairperson of the Board of Directors; Lázaro Macamo, proposed Vice-Chairperson of the Board; Florêncio Marruanha, proposed Board Member; Eurico Dzivane, proposed Chairperson of the Supervisory Board; Lucilene Siwa, Rapporteur of the Supervisory Board; and Issufo Arrone, proposed Coordinator of the Advisory Council.
Initial positions and responsibilities were defined, the draft statutes were reviewed and the principles that should guide the Foundation’s work were discussed. Each participant expressed a willingness to contribute experience, knowledge and commitment to the institution’s consolidation.
One idea was repeatedly expressed: the Vanessa Macamo Foundation should not simply become another foundation in Mozambique, but a reference institution recognised for its integrity, closeness to communities and ability to transform lives.

The meeting ended with a commitment to continue the creation process, refine the institutional documents and prepare the next steps towards launching a Foundation guided by the mission to believe, empower and transform.
